Directions by road
Please note, Fitzwilliam College has two car parks, one on Huntingdon Road and the other on Storey’s Way. Please use the one on Storey’s Way. The postcode for the car park on Storey’s Way is CB3 0DG. Parking spaces cannot be booked – the car park is offered on a “first come first served” basis. There is also on-road parking on Storey’s Way.
Access by road from the North is via the A1 to Huntingdon, then A14 and A1307 (Huntingdon Road) into Cambridge. Fitzwilliam is approximately 2 miles along Huntingdon Road on your right hand side
From the East, use the A14 take the B1049 exit towards Cambridge. At the end of Histon Road turn right and right again at the traffic lights into Huntingdon Road. Fitzwilliam is approximately 200 metres on your left.
From the South, use junction 13 of the M11 to come east into Cambridge along the A1303 (Madingley Road). After a couple of miles and passing the side of Churchill College on your left there is a left hand turn into Storey’s Way. The road passes the front entrance of Churchill College. Ahead of you is Fitzwilliam College and the road curves left around it.
From the West, join either the M11 or A14 and follow directions as detailed above.

Arriving by Train
There is a frequent train service to London (Liverpool Street and Kings Cross). The fastest service takes 52 minutes.
Eurostar passengers arrive at St. Pancras terminus in London. From St. Pancras it is a short walk to Kings Cross rail terminus, from where the trains to Cambridge leave. For train times see National Rail Enquiries.
The train station is situated on the South of Cambridge City Centre, and Fitzwilliam can easily be reached using taxis or buses. The town centre is approximately half way between the station and the College.
To reach the College by bus, take the ‘City Rail Link’ bus to the city centre and then a local bus from the Drummer Street/Emmanuel Street Bus Station – either Citi 5, destination Bar Hill, or Citi 6, destination Oakington. Fitzwilliam College is situated just over a mile away on the Huntingdon Road. There is a stop directly outside the College.
Arriving by Long Distance Bus
All national and regional bus services terminate in the City Centre. You can then either take a taxi or a local bus to Huntingdon Road (see above). You can visit the National Express website or telephone +44 (0) 8717 81 81 81 for routes and timetables for long distance services.
Arriving by Plane
Of the London airports the most convenient is Stansted since it is only 25 miles along the M11 from Cambridge. Buses and trains can be taken from the airport to Cambridge, then follow directions as given for rail and coach passengers. There is an hourly direct train service to Cambridge which takes approximately 40 minutes.There is more than one bus service between Cambridge and Stansted Airport – for details see the National Express website website.
The bus is the cheapest and simplest option from Heathrow Airport: there is an hourly bus to Cambridge which leaves from stops at both Heathrow Central Bus Station and Terminal 5. Timetables and information will be available at the airport, or check the National Express website. The journey takes just over two hours and arrives at Parkside. You can also travel by train from London King’s Cross station to Cambridge (journey times 50 to 90 minutes). To get to London King’s Cross either take the London Underground Piccadilly line, or take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station and change to the London Underground Circle or Hammersmith & City lines. The best way to get from London Gatwick airport to Cambridge is to take the train. There is a frequent service from Gatwick to St. Pancras station, which is adjacent to King’s Cross station, where you can catch a train to Cambridge.
If you arrive at Luton airport, the best route to Cambridge is by bus.
