BASEES Annual Conference

13-15 April 2018, Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge

The British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES) will hold its 2018 Annual Conference Friday, 13 April to Sunday, 15 April, and will be based at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, United Kingdom. The 2017 conference attracted 500 delegates.

Panels androundtables will be held in the following areas: Politics; History; Sociology and Geography; Film and Media, Languages and Linguistics; Literatures and Cultures; Economics. The conference especially welcomes participation by postgraduate research students and young scholars. The 2018 conference coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Prague Spring and the events of ‘1968’. We will mark the occasion with special keynotes and roundtables reflecting on the Prague Spring, dissidence and the issue of human rights.
